Join us for a weekend workshop intensive on the Rhythms of West Africa!

Taught by Ali Thomas:
An experienced and gifted djembe teacher, performer and group leader. Her charismatic style and ability to connect with students of all ages, cultures and experience levels make her a popular and sought-after instructor. As a Certified Teacher for Tam Tam Mandingue, Ali is part of an elite, international group of djembe teachers who have traveled to Africa as part of their studies, and demonstrated extensive knowledge of traditional rhythms, as well
as the cultural and historical significance related to the rhythms.

Three levels of classes to suit all needs:

Friday:
Beginning: $20 from 5:30pm - 7pm

Saturday:
Intermediate: $20 from 11am - 12:30pm
(Dunun class taught by Mabiba Baegne, $25 from 12:45pm-2:15pm)
Advanced: $25 from 3pm - 5pm
*take two or more classes and get $2 off total cost; three or more gets $5 off*

Location :
Briscoe ArtWing, Studio 5, Ashland, Oregon.
265 N. Main St. (parking and entrance from S. Laurel St., around back of building).

No prior musical experience necessary for Beginning; must know basic sounds of djembe and rolls for Intermediate; minimum 5 years with teacher for Advanced.
Note pad and recorder strongly encouraged.
