The kind used by navigators, traditional Native American culture and Western Astrology.
Compasses, with the assistance of sextants, have been used by ancient mariners to figure magnetic north, since the Iron Age (pre 1,000 B.C.).
Medicine wheels, oriented to the eastern point of ascension on the horizon, are mirrors of solar path upon the earth that are used in healing ceremony and meditation.
Astrologers map the light of the heavens in relation to a human’s date, place and time of birth. This use of celestial correspondence displays a map of the human soul that can be interpreted backwards and forwards in time using the origination point of birth. All circles that follow the path of the sun are divination tools that have been used for as long as recorded history.
Marty Dixon is an Evolutionary Astrologer who has counseled, applying Jeffrey Wolf Green’s teachings, for 20 years. She is a ‘Fixed Stars’ practitioner, employing Bernadette Brady’s visual astrology approach to mapping the night sky. She is a lecturer for “Astrology in Ashland” and a columnist for the “Sedona Journal of Emergence”. She teaches shamanic journeying so that everyone may be better able to ‘see’ for themselves.
