The next local Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) meeting/potluck is on Sat., Dec. 13th @ 5pm @ the Bellview Grange in Ashland. Please see below for directions to the Bellview Grange. On Dec. 13th, we look forward to visiting with folks from all over our beautiful valley while sharing our properly prepared, nutrient dense foods with each other at the potluck. Please apply principles from Sally Fallon's "Nourishing Traditions" cookbook (or your own favorite recipe that utilizes similar concepts) to the food that you bring. I am happy to discuss what this means with anyone who is unsure. Everyone is welcome to this community event. We will also discuss the recent WAPF Conference that a few (~7) locals attended. Information concerning Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's) will also be available. I ask all those who are interested to bring dishes prepared with 100% GMO free ingredients. Although this can be quite difficult to accomplish, it dosn't have to be complicated. For instance, just serve any organic vegetable steamed and topped with butter (preferably organic from grass-fed cows). We will see this challenge easier to meet over the next year as the public makes a big push toward truth in labeling of GMO ingredients. Come learn more about the 2008 WAPF Conference and GMO ingredient concerns.Additionally, we will be discussing the options of a local bulk buying group so interested Rogue Valley families can provide more economical quality, nutrient dense foods to their families. Please bring your own place setting (plate, bowl, silverware, cloth napkin, cup) to help keep the clean up to a minimum. There will be place settings available for those who forget.Directions to Bellview Grange 1050 Tolman Creek Rd.:From I-5 South, take exit 14 (the southern Ashland exit) for OR-66 toward Ashland and turn right at Ashland St/OR-66/Green Springs Hwy. and after 0.2 mi., turn left at N Tolman Creek Rd. Follow this down past Barbara St. and you'll see the Grange on the left (before you get to Hwy. 99/Siskiyou Blvd./Rogue Valley Hwy.). Park at the front of the building or on either side of the building. There's ongoing construction at the Siskiyou school next door, so please park on the tighter side, so there's plenty of room for everyone. Thank you. Please try to RSVP to give us an idea of how many tables to set up. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with set up or clean up, please let me know.If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about the valuable information we share, please invite them to join the group by sending them this link:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RogueValley-WAPF/I look forward to seeing many of you at the potluck!HealthFULLy,Summer Waters, L.Ac.WAPF Chapter LeaderAshland, ORsummer@summerwaters.com541-326-8952
