As part of its 2009 High-Vibe Concert Series, The Center for Spiritual Living presents Madeline Abel-Kerns in her concert entitled, "MY BODY, MY INSTRUMENT: FROM ADVERSARY TO ALLY." Be inspired and hear a world-class talent! Through story and song, Madeline Abel-Kerns shares intimate moments of her journey—despite incredible odds—to self-hood, artistry, mastery and gratitude. Madeline is a New York-based soprano with “a warm and expansive voice” (Cool Cleveland). The San Francisco Chronicle raved, “Madeline...filled the house with thrilling sound.” Renowned for her one-woman cabaret shows and performance art pieces, Madeline is an award-winning singer who has performed on many of San Francisco’s opera, musical theatre, and dramatic stages. As voice talent for commercials and cartoons, she has worked for AT&T, Macy’s, Levi’s and Lucasfilm. As a classical music soloist, Madeline has performed in opera, oratorio and concert throughout the U.S., Europe and the Bahamas. She appears regularly in NYC at both Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Madeline specializes in the “big voice” roles of Wagner, Verdi and Strauss, but attributes the richness of her voice and the depth of her characters to her roots in musical theater and cabaret. With special guests: Laura Derocher, David Gabriel and Brian Kerns. www.cslmedford.org for map. Tickets $15 at the door or by calling CSL: 541-734-8581
