Jesus: First-Century Rabbi
with Rabbi David Zaslow
Join rabbi David Zaslow as he explores the emerging scholarship that
confirm that Jesus was loyal to his Jewish faith, and in fact, died
because he was Jewish. The Roman Empire was terrified that he would
be declared King by the Jewish people and therefore crucified him.
Rabbi Zaslow has just published a book by this same title, and in his
talk he will explore the various sects that existed in the
first-century, and what a tumultuous period is was for the Jewish
people. The thesis of Rabbi David's research is that the historical
Jesus is uniquely different from the theological Jesus of the Church,
and the notion of Christ consciousness in new thought communities.
Bio: Rabbi David has been the spiritual leader of the Havurah since
1996. He is married to Debra Zaslow
