Our Minister Norma Burton will be leading our Sunday gathering around the following theme of the "Ghost Dance"The Ghost Dance arose in the late 1880's through a Paiute Indian prophet healer who beckoned Native People to seek reconciliation and Unity of all peoples on earth, even after all of the massacres and cruelty of the white settlers. It quickly spread as a powerful spiritual movement focused on forgiveness and UNITY as the healing way of Great Spirit on this planet. Thousands of Native Americans all over the West danced the Ghost Dance prayers of reconciliation. The white armies were threatened by the radical spiritual power of the Ghost Dance Prayer Movement and carried out a final massacre to end it at Wounded Knee reservation. Our minister, will help us touch into the tremendous power of Spirit in this story and cull the message for our Nation and for our current UNITY movement.Music will be preformed by Heather Hutton, Richard Williams and Scott August, a nationally acclaimed Native American flute player known for his unique blend of Native American flutes, world instruments, and ambient soundscapes.
