Thousands in the US have been abducted or contacted by aliens. Most are unaware of what has happened. They may have residual symptoms, such as unexplainable physical problems, anxiety, marks on the skin, strange but fragmentary memories with dream-like quality, illogical circumstances, and unaccountable periods of lost time. Most memories are lost but can be recovered through hypnosis. Memories vary from positive to horrific. What is remembered challenges our most fundamental notions of reality so much that it's easier to disbelieve it.
Abductees are generally normal people. They need to know they are not crazy; and they need a safe, respectful, accepting, and supportive place to talk about it.
