TRANSITION TOWN ASHLAND invites you to join us at our FIRST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION on Thursday, December 17, at 7 p.m. in the Gresham Room, downstairs at the Ashland Branch Library.Transition Town Ashland is a year old, and we're fixin' to celebrate on the 17th. We would be delighted if you would join us. This will be a great time to come together and connect in an informal way.Bring a dish of finger food or a dessert ... and be prepared to have fun!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------TOM WARDTom Ward – our wonderful teacher of Permaculture – will be giving a talk on "Ecological Constraints and Opportunities in the Bear Creek Basin" in the Theater at Science Works at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7th.Tom will speak on the carrying capacity of the Bear Creek drainage basin and the opportunities we have to move toward more sustainable living in our local bioregion. Combining information about the local limits of soil, water, agricultural space and air-shed and the history of ecological management systems and their long-term effects, Tom will draw connections to ways we can manage our local resources to create a transition to a way of life in balance with nature.
