Hello from TRANSITION TOWN ASHLAND,First, we want to invite you to join us at this month's ACTION PLANNING MEETING.Action Planning Meetings are held on the Third Thursday of each month. People who come to these meetings will have the opportunity to join existing Action Groups or to form new ones. Action Groups report on their process, and they give and receive ideas and support.At the July 16th meeting,-- Catie Faryl will discuss her plans to develop a Sustainability Support Center in Ashland.-- We'll find out about the request for citizen input on goal-setting from the Ashland City Council. Here's the Link to the City's WebPage with the Goals, Values, and Vision documents, as well as the Feedback forms: http://www.ashland.or.us/Page.asp?NavID=11991-- We'll discuss items of interest from the latest Transition US Newsletter.-- We'll hear about the Skill Share that will be held at the upcoming Peace Village in Mid-August.-- And as always, we'll have general discussion, and break out into Action Groups.Transition Town Ashland also hosts Introduction Meetings -- presentations on the principles of the Transition Town movement -- on the First Thursday of every month, at 7 p.m. at Peace House. We recommend that you attend an Introduction meeting before you come to an Action Planning Meeting.The other thing we'd like to mention is the FOURTH-OF-JULY PARADE in Ashland. We made a float and marched and connected with LOTS of friendly people, and we took photos of more than 300 them. It won First Prize for Best Float in the Community Organization Category and the Grand Prize for Best Float in the Parade!
