This free lecture by Carol Moore is based on a tour of Senegal in which Moore collected over 1,000 folk tales from Sengalese school children and a subsequent book she wrote comparing these stories to stories from the American South, including the Uncle Remus tales. Moore will describe her Sengalese adventure and detail the close similarities between the African tales and their American counterparts. This program is part of a weekly series sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institution (OLLI) at SOU.
