Mar 5  1 - 4pm  The Science of Chocolate for Kids
Explore the world of chocolate on Saturday, March 5th from 1-4pm at ScienceWorks.  The event is part of the 2011 Oregon Chocolate Festival and is suitable for families and children of all ages.   Tickets available at www.scienceworksmuseum.org

1pm: Heat it, Freeze it, Eat it
Learn about the states of matter in this exciting chocolate demonstration. Delicious Dagoba chocolate and super cool liquid nitrogen will combine to create a delicious science experience.  Free with museum admission.2011 Oregon Chocolate Festival

2pm & 3pm: From Bean to Bar
A 1-hour a multi-sensory, interactive event where you'll learn where chocolate comes from and how it's made, presented by Melissa Schweisguth.  We'll combine an engaging presentation on cocoa farming and chocolate processing with a hands-on activity where you can try your hand at different steps of the chocolate making process from bean to bar. We'll also touch, taste and smell cocoa products and chocolate for a multi-sensory learning experience. (Tasting includes dairy and non-dairy chocolate. No products with nuts, wheat or gluten.)  Admission is $2 per person.  ScienceWorks members get in FREE!  Regular museum admission prices still apply.
