THE PRACTICE OF PRESENCEPresence is the very heart of spirituality, psychological healing, loving relationships, and vital embodiment. It is your very nature. Come learn a simple practice that is grounded in the body, the breath, the heart, and primary awareness. We will be opening into Presence as well as practicing various ways of living that Presence on a daily basis. It is compatible with a commitment to any spiritual practice—or none. It is not based on belief but on the integral human condition, the paradoxical Mystery that we are here to live, celebrate, and unfold—and which the mind cannot fathom or confine into a box.Sessions are primarily experiential, centered around practice rather than abstractions. Teaching, sharing, or dialogue can all be useful in the alchemy that opens us into an immersion in Presence. Each week, after going through the basic practice, we will focus on one of the Aspects of Presence: Space (Here), Time (Now), Life (Energy or Aliveness), Love (Heart, Feeling), Mind (Consciousness), Self (I AM), One(ness) of all of the above. We will explore these aspects through some mix of inner process, visualization, interpersonal exercises, group practices, movement, visual and auditory exercises, sound, music, toning, and the like. Explore your own presence in the context of group presence, all in the context of—Presence as such. This is an integral practice, in being spiritual and practical, relational and inward. It is oriented not only to special experiential openings but primarily to the ongoing opening into Presence, communion with Presence, living the Presence. This develops a basic orientation in which everything in life serves as grist for the mill of that opening into Presence, which is our true nature. The practice draws on the integral human condition of what we can call spirit, mind, soul or psyche, and body or energy, all as facets of integral Oneness. This is a weekly drop-in group, and everyone is invited free of charge. Donations are gratefully accepted, not encouraged.Where: OMEGA HOUSE, 371 S. Mountain Avenue, AshlandWhen: Wednesdays, 1-2:30 p.m.Ed Hirsch, Ashland resident, will be facilitating.
