Southern Oregon Pride, in partnership with the Lotus Rising Project, will celebrate our regional Seventh Annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Festival on Saturday, October 9, 2010. All events are open to the public. Starting with a Kick-off Celebration at the Ashland Springs Hotel on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 7 to 11 pm, Senator Alan Bates and other local dignitaries will preside over festivities where guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Tickets to this event are $20.00 for individuals, $35.00 for couples, and $15.00 for student and senior prices. Kick-off tickets can be purchased at Paddington Station and Music Coop in Ashland or Father and Son Jewelers in Medford.On Saturday several more events are planned at various venues in Ashland. From 11 am to 5 pm there will be a free Booth Fair with venders and information booths located in the Claycomb Plaza Mall parking lot at 40 North Main Street.At noon everyone is invited to march in the 2010 Pride Festival Parade. We will meet at the library and march down East Main Street in Ashland to promote equality, peace and basic rights for all. Bill Rauch, the Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, will be our Grand Marshal. There is no charge.
