Announcing TheFirst Local Green Business and Sustainable Leadership Awards.The First Local Green Business and Sustainable Leadership Awards are sponsored by SLP Sustainable Living Programs. In the spirit of building local green business recognition, SLP is giving both a Green Business award and a Sustainable Leadership Award.A green business strives to follow the 3 E’s of sustainability that benefit the environment, the economy, and social equity. Conserving energy and resources also helps a company’s bottom line. Supporting workers with good wages and policies is a component of being a green business. A number of local businesses and organizations are using green practices.There are also many active leaders in the community working on sustainability issues. Come help recognize these hard working volunteers. The public will vote for their favorite local green business and sustainable leader at the Oregon Green Expo, July 3-5th at the Medford Armory. It will be a simple write-in ballot. Want to nominate a business or person? Send your nomination and the reasons why you are voting for them to lotz.shelley@gmail.com; Sustainable Living Programs.com by June 30 for this years award. SLP is the local provider of the National Sustainable Building Advisor Program.
