ScienceWorks invites you to explore the Frozen Continent from the comfort of a warm bar stool. Dave Baker, retired US Navy Captain, will share his experiences as a volunteer member of the team that built the first American bases in Antarctica from 1955 to '58 and his return trip in 2004 aboard the MS National Geographic Endeavor. His narration and pictures are a rare combination of adventure, science, scenery and history. We will learn about why explorers have gone to Antarctica, what we have learned there, and a bit about the men and women who have given their lives to exploration and science.
