The inaugural Rogue Valley Mini Maker Faire will be held Saturday, November 19th, from 10 am to 5 pm at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum in Ashland. Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, an interactive, family friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Visitors and participants will get to make, create, craft, recycle, build, think, play and be inspired by celebrating the arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology of the Rogue Valley and beyond.
The event will offer hands-on activities and demonstrations from over 40 Makers including animation, needle felting, robotics, a car take apart, 3D printing, LEGO building, kinetic bikes, learning to use tools, crafting, and much more.
Special guests include Danny Scheible, Sacramento based creator of TAPIGAMI, Joan Horvath and Rich Cameron, authors of the book 3D Printing Science Projects from Los Angeles, and Annika Schindler from Portland, costume designer for LAIKA the studio that produced the Oscar nominated films Coraline and The Boxtrolls.
