Monday, August 16th, 6PM Potluck, 7PM Caravan Talk, 8PM video, Peace House/Friends Meeting, 543 S. Mountain, Ashland. Come get a first hand look at the 21st annual Cuba Caravan. Hear from two local Ashlanders, Mary Anna Jones and Regina Ayars, who traveled cross country, through Mexico and into Cuba to participate in the 2010 Caravan to Cuba sponsored by Pastors for Peace.Bring a dish for a potluck and stay to hear Mary Ann and Regina tell about their adventures and experiences with stories and photos of their travels. Hear how construction materials, tools, medical equipment, school supplies and medicines collected cross the country, were donated to the Cuban people. Hear how the Cuban people work organic, sustainable urban gardens and farms, attend free schools through the university level, including medical school. Hear how the American embargo affects the everyday lives of the Cuban people.Plus, watch the amazing documentary, "The Power of Community - How Cuba Survived Peak Oil."
