In the ASHLAND SCHOOL OF HYPNOTHERAPY Professional Certification Training, you will receive a multi-faceted education through in-person and on-line training, utilizing written materials- including a 325 page manual- audio, video, teleconferences, mentoring and practice sessions. The course meets in person for a week in June, and then again near the end in September. All students go through the course together.
Rochelle Jaffe, clinical hypnotherapist, hypnotist examiner and SOU adjunct faculty is the director of the Ashland School of Hypnotherapy and is the trainer for the Certification Course.
The American Council of Hypnotherapy, our national certifying organization, allows half of the 200 hours required for certification to be completed through on-line training, with the other 100 hours taught in person. We have developed an exciting, professional level course that combines the best of both modalities. Unlike some hypnotherapy schools that simply record an in-person training and sell it as an on-line training, the on-line portions of our courses are specifically designed to best utilize the technologies available, giving you an enhanced learning experience.
Students prepare for the course with a brief home study portion that introduces you to the field of hypnotherapy, and offers a sample induction that you can experience for yourself, and begin to practice. You'll then spend seven days at our beautiful site in Ashland, Oregon, studying intensively with our director. You'll have the opportunity to practice, observe demonstrations, and participate in lectures and discussions with other students. In other words, you'll be participating in a program that can only be done in person. You will be supported in discovering your strengths and special interests within the field, and building upon those. The next part of the course is a 10 week home study/on-line portion. You'll be given a new module each week, which will involve a maximum of 8 hours of varied study, including text, session practice, audio and video, teleconferences with the instructor and other students, and e-mail. Technical and practical support will be available when you need it.
It is our intention that this combination will afford you the best possible hypnotherapy education. You can complete the entire course in 14 weeks.
