The Ashland Food Angels is hosting a musical fundraiser called "Playing for the Angels - an evening of Music, Mime and Merriment" on Friday, June 10, from 7 to 10 pm at the Rogue River Room in Stevenson Union, at SOU.
Entry is by donation with suggested donation from $5 to $25. The evening will open with a bit of mime by the Ashland Mime Troupe, followed by music from Richard Williams, David Gabriel, Laura Derocher, Aletha Nowitzky, Purple Cabbage, and The Railbirds, with plenty of room for dancing. There will also be a silent auction of art and specialty items.
The proceeds go to supporting the Food Angels efforts to gather and distribute food to those in need in the Rogue Valley. This project, now in its 17th year, operates every day of the year and reaches over 2000 people weekly. Run entirely by volunteer efforts, the Food Angels rely on donations and fundraisers to be able to continue giving food to food banks, school groups, seniors, community meals and others. Please spread the word and come out for an evening of music and fun.
