Singer/songwriter Peter Mulvey presents two workshops on Monday, September 13, at the Unitarian Fellowship, 87 4th St., Ashland. Cost is $25/each or $40/both. Register at www.stclairevents.com or call 541-535-3562.6:30-7:30 p.m.: Song De- and Reconstruction - Peter will examine a handful of his own songs; playing and then deconstructing them to illustrate the moving parts, pistons, gears and mice on little wheels. In the remaining time, Peter will focus on participants songs, including the disassembling process.8-9 p.m.: Guitar Techniques - Peter will cover various techniques: "alternate tunings as inspiration," "single string theory for intuitive play," "use of the back of the notebook as the back of the mind," etc. All the techniques are brought back mindfully to each student's own composing process.Produced by St. Clair Productions, Peter Mulvey presents a concert on Tuesday, September 14, 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Fellowship.
