Science Works Hands-On Museum welcomes nature lovers of all ages on Saturday, Sept. 12 for a FREE event, National Parks Family Day (11am to 5pm). Six nearby National Parks and Monuments -- Crater Lake, Redwoods, Lassen, Oregon Caves, Cascade-Siskiyou, and Lava Beds -- will offer kids activities and showcase our region’s spectacular parks. No entrance fee!Park Rangers and outdoor educators from thirty agencies and nonprofits will share tips on scenic tours, camping, flycasting, hiking, and birding. Young ones will enjoy the live animals, costumed creatures, hands-on exhibits, and giant salmon tent.All day in the Museum, visitors can get a sneak preview of Ken Burns’ new PBS television series, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” This 6-part film begins airing on Southern Oregon Public Television on Sep. 27th.Event co-sponsors include Pacific Power, SOPTV, and the National Parks Conservation Association.FREE! .
