Understanding the conditions which indicate & contraindicate massage therapy can contribute to the health and well-being of our clients. Safe and effective treatment of soft tissue pathologies is the goal of this two-day seminar.This course is designed to introduce or reacquaint massage therapists with the strategies of assessment & treatment of soft tissue pathologies. Included with the course:• A review of the inflammatory process and our role in managing soft tissue healing with massage.• A review & exploration of the structural bases of postural dysfunction leading to soft tissue compensation and pathology.• Indications & contraindications for massage in the treatment of peripheral neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome and sciatica.DAVID FREDRICKSON, LMT (OR License #2614), is the co-owner of the Ashland Institute of Massage, where he teaches anatomy & physiology, clinical assessment & treatment, and musculoskeletal pathology. In practice for 25 years, David combines his scientific "geekiness" with his hands-on gifts, increasing students appreciation of the body along with advancing their skills.
