Dr. Molly Tinsley will prescribe the fix for what ails your written work. Please bring two or three paragraphs, double-spaced, from a work
in progress.
Afternoon Session: ($30.00 for members, $35.00 other participants) 1:30-4:30.
Dialogue: "Know to Need"
Learn how to craft lively, tense dialogue full of surprises
• Sense when to make a scene
• Find the hotspot and keep up the heat
• Let go of realism, let go of outcomes
Participants: 1) Bring one or two paragraphs from a work in progress that describe an interaction between two or more characters and 2) a page of dialogue from a work in progress that you feel might lack energy or direction. Personal feedback limited to first 15 registrants, so register early.

Molly Best Tinsley, Ph.D., the author of Satan’s Chamber and
co-founder of Fuze Publishing, has received recognition from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Oregon Book Awards, the Pushcart Prize, the Maryland Arts Council. She is co-author of The Creative Process (Bedford/St. Martin's), and author of Throwing Knives (Ohio State University Press), and My Life With Darwin(Houghton Mifflin).
Dr. Tinsley's short fiction has been anthologized in the Pushcart Prize Anthology and New Stories from the South, and appeared in Shenandoah, New England Review, Prairie Schooner, and Redbook. Her plays have been read or staged nationwide. A former professor of English at the United States Naval Academy, Molly is recognized as the
first professor emerita in its history.
