                     Mirabai Ceiba Interview Live on KSKQ

World renowned artists Mirabai Ceiba return to Ashland June 4, 2011 with their engaging new style of devotional music blending Gurmukhi mantras from India with original songs in English and Spanish. Harp and guitar along with enchanting vocals weave a melodic tapestry from diverse influences.

 

Mirabai first performed in Ashland as an opening act for devotional super-star Snatam Kaur in 2008. In 2009 the band came to Ashland and performed in concert at Jackson Wellsprings Community Room. Since that time Mirabai Ceiba has traveled extensively, touring in 20 European cities last fall. Their new album "Awakened Earth" was recently recorded in Narayit, Mexico and will be released in June 2011!

 

Markus and Angelica of Mirabai Ceiba have become favorites of music lovers in Ashland and draw fans from diverse lifestyles and beliefs systems. Their musical sounds feel like a beneficent and abundant gift from the universe; the universal song and language of the soul. Their album "Ocean" was nominated by New Age Reporter for Best Vocal Album 2008. Their newest release "A Hundred Blessings" was named by LA Yoga among the 10 best albums for 2010.

 

They were also a hit in Europe playing to fans numbering 700 in the sacred site of "Bacilica St. Maria del Pi" in Barcelona, Spain. Mirabai albums rated "Best Seller" in major distribution companies in Europe. In Mexico City, Mirabai Ceiba performed a "Peace Prayer" concert for 600 music lovers in the City Theatre.
