Michael Stillwater is a multi-talented artist and inspirational educator using music for healing. A recording artist of over a dozen albums, his songs reflect universal spiritual principles through the eyes of his human journey, and his chants are known worldwide for opening the heart to love and mind to peace. He is founder of Inner Harmony/Medicine Music, offering musical services and healing arts.

Together with Emmy-award winning composer Gary Malkin, Stillwater founded The Wisdom Project which offers numerous opportunities for sustaining your journey, cultivating wisdom, and passing on the gift to others.  Some of the programs include: “Wisdom of the World,” supporting those in transition and their loved ones; “Companion Arts,” sustaining and educating healthcare professionals; and “MusicHeals,” renewal through healing music and spiritual retreats

Since 1974, Stillwater has cultivated the art of western contemporary chanting. Drawing from the practice of eastern Bhajan, he has adapted this form for Westerners. A contemporary musical form of contemplative practice, community fellowship and participatory universal worship, ChantWave encompasses a wide range of dynamics and reflects both reflective and up-tempo aspects.

In Search of the Great Song is a documentary about awakening through song as told through voices from around the world.  In word and song, people around the world respond to the question “How are we reconnecting with our inner song?”

On Sunday, April 24, 2-5 p.m., at the Geos Building (formerly the Headwaters Building) 84 4th St., Stillwater presents the workshop Song Sanctuary: Freeing Our Voice for Healing and Transformation. The workshop includes The Honoring (a musical empowerment ceremony) and SongSourcing.  Cost is $30.
