Madroña in Benefit Concert at the Havurah, Saturday, March 23, 7 PM

 

On Saturday, March 23 at 7 PM Madroña will perform in a benefit concert of music and dance from the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Eastern Europe and the Silk Road, as a benefit for the Havurah community. The Madroña Caravan will set off along ancient trade routes bringing the audience along with poetry, music and American Tribal Style Belly Dance and Tribal Folkloric Belly Dance by Zahara Solomon who will be debuting her ATS® student troupe this evening.

The musicians performing are Steve Berman on Oud, Vocals, Spanish Guitar, Pat O'Scannell on Sham, Vielle, Vocals, Jeff Solomon on frame drums, cajon, duembek, Scott Miller on didj, frame drums, duembek & strings from Tuva, and Asha Slater on Turkish saz, mandolin & percussion.

The Shiviti Bazaar will be offering ethnic adornment and tribal textiles for purchase and Susan Kolhman, The Cupcake Caterer, will be offering flourless chocolate cake, Moroccan Nut Balls & Fruit skewers along with other refreshments. Tickets are by donation with a sliding scale of  $5 - $75 at the door.
