KOCHS RETURN TO ASHLAND
Wacky Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch returns to her hometown for a night of demented songs and stellar harmonies-- joined by special guest (and brother), David Koch! Picture the triangulated love child of Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin and Joan Jett... and you've got Lisa Koch. An irreverent Seattle singer/comedian, Koch ("Coke") has recorded 4 solo CD's, is one-half of
quirky sketch comedy duo, Dos Fallopia, and has shared the stage with the likes of Janis Ian, The Indigo Girls, Catie Curtis, Kate Clinton, and Suzanne Westenhoefer. Lisa has co-written such warped cabaret shows as "The Carpeters: Uncomfortably Close To You," "Deja Poo" and "Ham for the Holidays: Close Encounters of the Pork Rind". She has appeared in two one-woman shows at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, composed Off-Broadway musical "27, Rue de Fleurus", appeared on LOGO, and actually had one of her songs sampled by Jay-Z.
Koch grew up in Ashland and started her musical career in the Rogue Valley, singing in a duo with her talented brother David. She later joined rock band In Flight, and toured with local singer Lisa Spencer (Lisa and Lisa). The Kochs were regular performers at popular Ashland club Jazmin's, and Lisa reunites for this concert with her former singing partner (David Koch) and former boss David Zaslow (now Rabbi Zaslow).
David Hunter Koch is an actor/director/producer and teacher. David founded the legendary Cabaret de Paris in Seattle, and has performed and directed at ACT, Seattle Rep, Intiman, 5th Ave, Milwaukee Rep, MetroStage, and more. He is currently the director of popular children's theater camp, SingOut Seattle.
