Hike into Zane Grey roadless area alongside the Lower Rogue River. Spring is a wonderful time to walk the south side of the Lower Rogue River to Rainie Falls. This trail offers views of the Wild and Scenic Rogue River Gorge, small streams tumbling into the river, wildflowers and often river otters and osprey.

We will eat lunch at Rainie Falls and watch out for boaters navigating this famous rapid (join us in October when we will observe salmon navigating Rainie Falls!).

Moderate, 4-mile roundtrip with steep and narrow sections of trail. Bring water, lunch, good shoes and clothing layers.

Carpool leaves Evo’s Coffee in Ashland at 10am; Graves Creek Boat Ramp at 11:30am.

  • Hi, I usually have to work on Saturdays but not this weekend and I haven't been to the falls before so this sounds really good to me.  Is it going to rain?  Hope not, be well, rhea
