Teacher: Karen TassinariWe’ll discuss medicinal properties of food, culinary herbs, wild edibles, mushrooms, seaweeds, and reasons for incorporating these plants and foods into your daily fare. With acknowledgment of each individual’s unique needs, I will offer a variety of ideas, recipes, and methods for creating herbal and medicinal foods, beverages, and treats. I also welcome and encourage discussion of personal recipes, experiences, and approaches.Laughs, learning and messes will ensue while preparing soup, mixing herbal treats, and making herb-infused oil and vinegar. We’ll also have the opportunity to pick a fresh spring greens salad. Bring empty jars and containers to take home these delicious concoctions, and a bowl to eat the soup for lunch!Karen’s passion is for plants, herbal medicine, and actively engaging with the plant world everyday. Her mission is to increase the health of others and the Earth by bringing awareness of the joys and benefits of the innate healing powers of whole foods and herbs.
