International recording artists, GYPSY SOUL return to their home state of Oregon after mostly sold-out performances on their West Coast and Southwest tours in 2010-2011. To kick off of this summer’s touring, the Jacksonville-based duo performs at Alberta Rose Theatre on Saturday, July 9th.. They then return to Southern Oregon to headline Britt Festival on Saturday, July 16th, after garnering nearly 1,000 attendees last year. As the only independent artists to headline Britt two years in a row, the duo is hoping for a record turnout next month. Gypsy Soul completes its Oregon stint on the coast, Sunday, July 17th at the Oregon Coast Music Association’s concert series at the Boat House.
These award-winning, acoustic soul artists have become the vanguard of independent musicians. Professional performers/writers for twenty plus years, Canadian singer/lyricist, Cilette Swann and British-born multi-instrumentalist, Roman Morykit create exquisitely introspective music that leaves their audiences breathless. Their intelligent lyrics and elegant arrangements are performed with virtuosic ability, yet delivered with an earthy, soulful power and grace. Their sound has been likened to Sheryl Crow meets Coldplay.
