A free workshop to provide children with opportunities and tools to create art will be held at the Ashland Art Center on Saturday, July 30th from 10:30 AM until Noon.  Volunteers will be on hand to assist children as they explore many different forms of art media including drawing, painting and working with clay.

All age are welcome with parental supervision.  Materials and smocks will be provide but please wear proper painting attire.

The artwork created will be on display for the First Friday Art Walk in August and then available for viewing at the Ashland Art Center, 357 East Main St. in Ashland.   

The workshops are organized by Project ArtKids, established in 2009, whose mission is to give kids of all ages a voice and identity to to create and display works of art in a free form, creative and nurturing environment.    These workshops will continue on the last Saturday of each month.

The all-volunteer effort is looking for community support. “Your generous support provides the tools for young minds to create magic,” said project organizer Steve Barnard.   Project ArtKids is partnered with the Multicultural Association of Southern Oregon, a 501c3 organization.
