“For the Next 7 Generations: The Grandmothers Speak.” (See video at www.13GrandmothersMovie.com) Join us for a very special evening hosted by Agnes Baker Pilgrim (Grandma Aggie). The Nov. 6 event is a special one-night only showing of a documentary made about the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers and their work. The film is an inspiring look at 13 female medicine women, healers, and indigenous stateswomen on a journey as global ambassadors of peace -- sharing indigenous wisdom and ways of prayer, taking action to protect the earth, and delivering a powerful call to change. Grandma Aggie, Chairperson of the Council, is the eldest living female member of the Takelma band of Rogue River Indians, and grand-daughter of the first elected Chief of the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz. The screening will be preceded by musical offerings by Whistling Elk (native drums), Gentle Thunder (native flute) and vocalists Windsong and Kat Del Rio. Tickets are $10-20 (sliding scale) at Heartsong in Grants Pass, Soundpeace in Ashland, Mystic Earth in Roseburg, or online at 13GrandmothersMovie.com. Ticket sales benefit charity.
