(Ashland, Ore.) On May 2, 2014, experience the First Friday Art Walk at Southern Oregon University’s Hannon Library, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This event kicks off SOU’s 7th annual Southern Oregon Arts & Research (SOAR) conference. All are welcome to attend this free reception and exhibit opening, which will feature artwork by SOU students as part of their SOAR participation.
Every spring, SOU students, faculty and staff showcase their work in a week-long celebration of academics, creativity, and engagement. This year, the university brings the First Friday art walk experience to the mix by featuring SOAR art projects at Hannon Library. Visitors can view the projects, as well as the many collections and exhibits on display at the library, while enjoying live music and light refreshments.
Visitors to the May art walk are also encouraged to attend the many presentations and performances that will take place during SOAR Week, May 12-16. A complete schedule of activities will be available online at http://sou.edu/soar.
Admission to the art walk is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the lot behind the library, off of Indiana Street. For additional information, contact Library Administration at 541-552-6816 or libraryevents@sou.edu.
