Field Botany for Herbalists
with Botanist Jesse Miller

Would you like to explore the stunningly diverse plant communities in wild places of southwest Oregon?
This unique class follows the spring bloom tide of the Klamath / Siskiyou region, emphasizing plant identification, classification, and ecology.

From wildflowers and trees to lichens and fungi, we will investigate the landscapes of our region and read the stories they tell. We will encounter medicinal and edible plants in the field and learn about ethical wild-crafting practices. Guest lecturers will includeClinical Herbalist Jon Carlson, who will share his knowledge about therapeutic properties of plants.

Class Times:
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on seven spring Sundays:
March 20, April 3, 17 & 24, May 15 & 22, and June 5
Full term commitment required!

Class Structure:
The first class will be held at the school – 340 A St. #7 in Ashland. Subsequent classes will be held in the field at specified locations. We will move up in elevation as the season progresses, from meadows and oak woodlands in April to mountain forests in May and June.

Price:
$ 410 for early registrants – by February 18th
$ 450 after early registration due date

Class size will be limited to ensure ample individual attention…
