EXPLORE THE PATAGONIAN PEAKSWITH WILDERNESS PHOTOGRAPHER AND AUTHOR TOM REEDWilderness explorer, photographer and author Tom Reed brings tales of backcountry hiking in the southern Andes to Ashland Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7pm.Based on his new book, “The Granite Avatars of Patagonia,” Tom will present a digital slide show that highlights his three separate trips to Argentina’s Parque Nacional Los Glaciares and his tours among the dramatic granite spires, Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy, or El Chaltén.In addition to readings from the book, spectacular images and behind the scenes tales, Tom gives tips on the nuts and bolts of hiking the region, including travel logistics, back country route planning and gear selection.Whether you are an armchair adventurer or interested in day-hiking, multi-day treks, climbing, or serious glacier travel, this presentation will provide you with both information and inspiration.Signed copies of his book, prints and posters will also be available for sale with a 10% discount.For more information about Tom, visit www.tomreed.com
