This year the community fundraiser for Uncle Foods Diner, Food Angels, and ACCESS has a new twist. Seven Ashland restaurants--Amuse, Black Sheep Pub & Restaurant, C Street Bistro, Greenleaf Restaurant, Pangea, Spoons, and Standing Stone Brewery--as well as Maren Faye Caterer, will prepare and contribute the soup that attendees will eat out of handmade bowls they take home with them. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased on-line at http://www.peacehouse.net/empty-bowls/ or at Paddington Station or Northwest Nature Shop.
Be sure to attend this delightful event (purchase tickets here). It takes place on Friday, May 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Wesley Hall of First United Methodist Church in Ashland. That venue is where, each Tuesday for 51 weeks of the year, Uncle Foods Diner provides a delicious hot meal for our area's poorest residents and homeless population.
