“The soul is a being – living and vibrant. It is with you from the moment of death to the moment of birth, and all the time in between. It has 7 faces: each of these comes to you and gives you its many gifts – not verbally – but metaphorically and symbolically.”In modern times, the word soul has lost its meaning for most people. Many of us have been told that we “have” a soul, but we don’t really know what that means. Is the soul some kind of overseer or judge? Can we actually communicate with our soul in some way? Or, do we only meet our soul after death?Different traditions answer these questions in different ways. The esoteric traditions – sometimes referred to as “the mysteries” – suggest that the soul is a companion and guide. It travels with us through our many lifetimes; it holds all the experiences and wisdom that we’ve accumulated over these many lifetimes. We do – or we can – have a personal relationship with our soul. It does know our name; in fact, it gives us our name.In this class, we will read about the 7 Faces of the Soul and then explore each of the faces through art, music and dialogue. Our purpose is to become more personally aware of each of the specific faces so that we might interact with them more consciously and directly.
