(Ashland, Ore.) The Hannon Library at Southern Oregon University will host a viewing of the documentary “Race to Nowhere”, a diagnosis of our educational system and its challenges, on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 12 noon; 3:00 pm, and 9:00 pm in the Meese Room of the library. The United Nations Club of SOU is sponsoring this event to motivate concrete actions based upon the needs of OUR educational community in Ashland, Oregon – while highlighting the global significance of education, a millennium goal of the United Nations.  A panel discussion with local professors, teachers and students on the nature of education, its goals, and the challenges our current institutions and cultural attitudes pose to them will take place at 6:00 pm.
