Join us to discuss new water treatment and sanitation systems that help meet Oregon's strictest-in-the-nation water quality standards. What do they cost, how do they work, and are they comfortable?  Follow the path of water from your bathroom to lakes and rivers-- learning where septic systems work, where they don't, and the alternatives developed around the world.

What are the benefits of graywater reuse? Ever wondered how septic tanks work?  Interested in high-performing systems that create clean water and rich soil?  What does the future of sanitation look like? Recode has contacted experts across the United States and Europe to identify emerging and established onsite sanitation systems, what is permitted in Oregon, and Oregonian code barriers limiting access to the best available technologies.

At this free presentation with Recode Oregon, you will learn what you can do now and how you can help move Oregon towards cleaner, safer watersheds.

Recode Oregon promotes codes that allow the most sustainable system to flourish.  They catalyzed the legalization of graywater reuse and broadened composting toilet options in the state and now they’re working to encourage cohesive performance based codes.

Public Presentations on Ecological Sanitation will be held in Southern Oregon on May 21 in Bend, May 22 in Coos Bay and May 23 in Ashland. Each presentation will be followed by a facilitated discussion on regulatory barriers to sustainability and a local organizing strategy session.
