DAY OF THE LITTLE ANGELS (ALL SAINTS DAY) – Tues, Nov 1 – 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Día de los Angelitos or “Day of the Little Angels” is celebrated in the Latin world as a day when the spirits of children who have died (both the born and the unborn) return to visit their families.  It is a time to gather honor, remember, and celebrate their lives.

We will be building a traditional offrenda or communal memorial altar inside the Temple dome.  We invite those who wish to celebrate the life of a child who has died to bring a photo and any mementoes you wish to place on the altar.  The child you honor does not need to be related to you.  You may also bring flowers or candles.  The offrenda will expand on Wednesday, Day of the Dead, to include our ancestors and all the beloved dead.

The children’s altar will be available during the day, with a communal remembrance ceremony at 7:00 pm.  Grief support will be available.  Please spread the word.

We are also collecting blankets, coats, and warm clothing up until 11/2 for the Warmth Project, which benefits impoverished families on the Pine Ridge Reservation.  Please bring your new or clean and well-cared-for items to contribute.
