What do those annoying styrofoam packaging "peanuts" have to do with the replica of a 17th century Normandy chateau glimpsed from Oak Street in Ashland near I-5? Believe it or not, a composite of those peanuts bound with concrete was used to form the cinder blocks from which the 8,000 square foot chateau was constructed. A free Community Lecture presented by Stanley Mazor, owner of and the creative force behind Chateau Herbe, will take place on Wednesday, April 7 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Room D of SOU's Campbell Center, located at 655 Frances Lane in Ashland. The talk will describe the process behind this multi-phase 10-year "green" construction project -- a process chronicled in Mazor's book, "Design an Expandable House."
