Camp Gesher returns for 4th year & Peace Garden Summer Camp Debut

Camp Gesher (a Bridge to Friendship), a joint program of Havurah Shir Hadash and Temple Emek Shalom, is a Jewish summer day camp for all kids entering kindergarten through 6th grade in the Fall, regardless of religious affiliation. This summer will mark its 4th annual day-camp and the 2nd year that Andrea Shupack will serve as the director. The camp will run from August 2-6, Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 3 PM daily.Shupack says, “Our excellent and dedicated staff of counselors and specialists make this camp a spectacular opportunity for kids to play and learn together in a Jewish setting. Camp is filled with arts and crafts, sports, music, drama, field trips, and more. It is a great way for kids to build friendships and a positive Jewish identity.” We strive to integrate Jewish values, themes and practice into all activities from eating lunch and playing games to arts and crafts.The week culminates in a family Shabbat experience at Temple Emek Shalom on Friday evening, August 6th at 5:00 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to celebrate Shabbat in community and enjoy a taste of what the kids experienced at camp.Registration is now open. For any questions, or to receive a form by email or fax, contact Andrea Shupack at AndreaShupack@gmail.com.Debuting this summer, the Peace Garden Preschool & Kindergarten, directed by Linda Cohen, is offering two weeks of summer camp for 3-7 year olds: Session 1, July 5-9 and Session 2, August 16-20.

The camp, with a maximum of nine children per session, will offer creative play in the sun and shade of the old walnut tree, arts & crafts, song & story, water play and gardening in an intimate setting. Cohen has been director of Peace Garden since 2002 and has 17 years experience in early childhood education. Call Linda at 541-488-8887 for more info. Mountain Ave. in Ashland.
