Jefferson Baroque Orchestra presents "Bach, Music for Court, Coffeehouse and Countryside", featuring three major works: The Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 for 3 violins, 3 violas, 3 'cellos, harpsichord & bass, for the court of the Margrave of Brandenburg; the Concerto for Two Violins, inspired by Vivaldi and performed at Zimmerman's Coffeehouse; and the Peasant Cantata, a tiny comic opera with two rustic characters - a peasant farmer and his girl friend - accompanied by an orchestra of strings, horn and flute with harpsichord. The soloists in the concerto are JBO concertmaster Celia Rosenberg of Lopez, WA, and Juliet Long. The soloists for the Peasant Cantata are baritone Jim Rich and soprano Vanessa Nowitzky, who also did the English translation which will be used in the performance.
