Look like the ORGANIZER for the Ashland Resource Center will be offering a presentation all morning for Career Day at the high school so wish me well. This event is for students only.
Guest Speaker Instructions:
Students are interested in hearing about:
* your personal story or the path that brought you to where you are today
* what type of educational background or training is needed for your job
* what does a typical day look like
* what is the salary range for entry level positions
* what are the advantages and disadvantages of this career
* what high school classes students could take to prepare themselves for study in your field
Students attending are freshmen through seniors, age 14 – 19. Plan to speak for a time and also to allow for questions and conversation.
Please arrive between 8:15AM - 8:45AM and head to the lobby of the Theater Building, which is just across from the Main Office.
We will have Coffee, Tea, Juice and Water available. This is where you will sign-in and be directed to your classroom assignment.
Students will meet in their 6th period classrooms at 8:45AM, and then will be released to select their first speaker.
You will speak to four different groups of students. A bell system will alert you when the session is over.
Session Times:
- 1st Session: 9:00 – 9:30
- 2nd Session: 9:40 – 10:10
- 3rd Session: 10:20 – 10:50
- 4th Session: 11:00 – 11:30
Simple and casual presentations where you speak directly to the students seem to be the most well received, however, please list any special equipment you would like us to supply or plan to bring.
