– On Friday, June 26, 7:30 p.m., the American Band College Directors’ Band will present its 21st Annual Craterian Concert at the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theater, 21 S Central, Medford. This year’s guest conductors Lowell Graham Commander, U.S. Air Force Band (ret.) and Anthony Maiello from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia conduct the two 110-member bands consisting of high school, middle school and college band directors in the 3-year masters program of the American Band College located on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. Guest soloists are the 18-member United States Army Herald Trumpets.Tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for seniors 62 and up, and $7 for kids under 12. Tickets are available through the Craterian box office at 541-779-3000, on line at www.bandworld.org or at Cripple Creek Music in Ashland.The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets is the official fanfare ensemble for the President of the United States. Founded in 1959 and patterned after traditional British “fanfare” trumpet ensembles, The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets was formed to add splendor to official military ceremonies.
