A thriving, resilient Rogue Valley may be closer than we think
IT COULD HAPPEN HERE:
The Story of How a Valley Community Shifted to a High Level of Resilience and Thriving in Three Years
THURSDAY, MAY 19, from 7:30 - 9:30 pm
Presentation Hall
Higher Education Center (HEC)
101 South Bartlett, Medford
NO CHARGE
TRUE STORY (not about the Rogue Valley--but could be)
A moderate-sized community in a valley blessed with great natural beauty and resources and intelligent, hardworking people shifted in a mere three years from
--a polarized culture to a highly collaborative one
--ineffective practices reliant on outside inputs to highly effective ones that increased local self-reliance
The community did this without outside governmental intervention or huge infusions of capital. And with no single heroic individual rallying the masses.
At this FREE event:
- MEET two of the people who helped catalyze this shift
- HEAR Susan Davis Moora and Walter Moora tell their story
- LEARN its simple secrets of success
- TALK about how it might happen here
- CONNECT with local folks committed to help it happen here
THIS IS PURELY INFORMATIONAL
You won't be asked to sign up for anything or donate money or time to an organization. We do hope that some of you will be inspired to test out these secrets of success in the Rogue Valley. We're happy to help you do that at no charge, using Susan Davis Moora's KINS Innovation Networks approach, developed and tested over 35 years.
WHO'S PUTTING THIS ON?
An ad-hoc handful of people who connected with Susan and Walter when they visited the Rogue Valley last October. We were inspired to help catalyze a shift here in our home valley to the next level of long-term resilience and thriving. We invited Susan and Walter back to help us launch this endeavor. They are doing this at no charge.
WHY WE SENSE THE ROGUE VALLEY IS READY TO SHIFT
Organizations and endeavors we're involved with, support, or simply know about are launching promising initiatives this year. These include (a partial list): Immense Possibilities (initiated by Jeff Golden and a group of passionate RV citizens), So. Oregon Sustainable Business Network, THRIVE, Jackson Co. Local Action Coalition (JCLAC), Sustainable Valley, Rogue Resiliency Fund.
Disclaimer: These endeavors are NOT sponsors of this May 19 event.
