The park-like grounds of the old Briscoe Elementary School will again come alive as over 75 regional artists gather to celebrate art, music, community, and sustainability. This two day event has become the premiere Summer art festival in downtown Ashland.
This years theme is "Creating Paradigm Shift". It could be said that the theme is a tall order. However, pursuing the idea, simply thinking about what that means is part of the mission of this years event. As we witness countless problems our planet faces, it becomes ever more apparent that something has to change. Changing the way we think, adjusting our way of seeing, visioning, being, is part of the paradigm shift. It is about manifesting a cleaner, greener, more sustainable way of living.
Buying from people who make beautiful art and craft with their hands is part of that shift in consciousness. Many speakers are scheduled throughout the weekend speaking on topics relevant to our collective shifting consciousness. Old systems are no longer supporting a healthy environment with healthy people. It is up to us to change the way we engage with each other on many levels.
Great art and craft from the region, live music from some of the most talented musicians in southern Oregon, great food, and vision for a better planet. What more could one ask for as we usher in the Summer of 2011. Support Local, It Matters!
